Study Creative Arts
USQ’s Bachelor of Creative Arts is a unique degree that allows you either to delve deeply into one specific discipline area or combine studies in two discipline areas. You will develop your own signature skill set and position yourself for success as an emerging Creative artist.
You will work independently and collaboratively throughout your studies to gain the vital professional knowledge associated with the performance, exhibition, broadcast and film industries. The balance between intensive periods of studio practice, theory studies and personal reflection will prepare you for an exciting career as a professional artist and give you the tools for continuing artistic development over your lifetime.
Choose from four specialisations:
Film, Television and Radio
Music
Theatre
Visual Arts
Work experience
You will gain unique practical experience through USQ’s very own production company USQ Artsworx. Participate in its many public theatre and music productions and exhibitions and help bring arts into our local communities.
USQ also provides valuable practical experience and industry placements for students studying film, Television and Radio through its strong linkages to some of Queensland best-known media organisations and USQ’s very own student run radio station, Phoenix Radio.
Career opportunities
Graduates will be well placed to pursue a wide range of opportunities in the Arts industry as a practicing artist or as a Media professional. Graduates also entre into areas such as Arts Administration, Community Arts or Technical and Production Management.
Graduates who take on two discipline areas throughout their studies will be well placed to undertake further studies to gain teacher registration.
