McGregor is taking its Autumn Retreat on the road to picturesque Stanthorpe, offering six amazing workshops from expert, high quality tutors, on campus at the Queensland College of Wine Tourism.
This very special retreat will feature six brand new McGregor tutors including world renowned, Australian Artist Gordon Hanley, who loves teaching but is in such high demand that he rarely finds the time; and highly sought-after illustrator Angie Réhe, who is normally only available for classes in Melbourne!

Friday PM – Arrive at the heart of Granite Belt Wine Country. Enjoy a complimentary drink while you check-in at the wine college, home of McGregor Autumn Retreat 2018. Explore the glorious surrounds and maybe even take a sneaky trip to a cellar door or cocktail bar for a local night cap, before settling down for the night at your cosy, country-style hotel, where you’ll securely park your car for the weekend, we’ll take over the driving from here!
Saturday AM – Enjoy a continental breakfast before hopping onto your coach transfer to the Queensland College of Wine Tourism. Spend the morning learning inside your chosen workshop, be that wine making, cheesemaking, songwriting, contemporary portraiture, sharp focus watercolour or illustration. Enjoy a chef prepared morning tea.
Saturday PM – Break for a casual lunch made from local seasonal produce. Then return to your creative workshop before enjoying afternoon tea and finishing your first day feeling relaxed, having been immersed in Stanthorpe’s famous country hospitality. Before dinner opt to enjoy a wine and cheese appreciation session with winemaker Peter and cheesemaker Lyndall.
Saturday Night – Sit down to a two course à-la-carte dinner at the acclaimed Varias restaurant (part of the Queensland College of Wine Tourism). Following dinner enjoy an exclusive, one off performance from ARIA nominated and APRA award winning Mark Sholtez and the talented Jen Mize, while enjoying the fruitful flavours of the local wines and beers.
Sunday – Once again enjoy breakfast before heading to the wine college to continue creating and learning from your tutor. Enjoy morning tea, an exceptional ploughman’s lunch and afternoon, which will no doubt have you wishing you could take all this delectable produce back with you. Finally, following your full day of creativity, say farewell to your new friends and return to the everyday refreshed and inspired.
