Ticketing for Schools

USQ Artsworx offers local and regional primary and high schools an excellent range of creative arts engagement opportunities throughout each Semester.

Ranging from live theatre and music performances in the USQ Arts Theatre, visual arts exhibitions in the USQ Art Gallery, the annual Shakespeare festival production or tours and workshops into schools, both primary and high school students have a huge range of creative arts choices to choose from.

Schools are extended special ticket discounts for their students and are provided with accompanying reference resources and opportunities for discussions with the Director and cast members after most productions or artists or curators for an exhibition. In addition, the School of Arts and Communication produces teaching and reference resources for your use in the classroom for most student productions.

School Bookings

For productions in the theatre, discounted tickets are available for groups of more than 10 students. With each booking of 10 students, one complimentary ticket will be issued for an accompanying teacher.

Ticket prices for school bookings vary depending on the production and the number of tickets purchased.

Art exhibition viewings, tours and workshops are also available by appointment, dependent on availabilities.

Bookings and enquiries can be made by emailing or calling the Box Office on 07 4631 1111.

Preparing Your Students

It is important that supervising teachers are seated among their group, so that they can view both the performance and the student audience, as students often look to staff for appropriate responses. Prior to the performance, teachers’ assistance is needed so students arrive: with an awareness of the program’s content; with a willingness to enjoy the performance and to concentrate on absorbing the ideas being presented; ready to understand the art form used to communicate ideas; and prepared to accept the performer’s interpretation of the material being presented. Each performance will be unique to the dynamics of the audience.

By taking note of the following points, you will ensure that your class and the rest of the audience will enjoy the performance; minimal talk or unnecessary movement in the audience; photography and video recording of the performance is not permitted; and alarms, beeping watches, pagers and mobile phones should be turned off.
