Urban Sketching

Sketching on location in your hometown or on your travels is a wonderful way of recording your own life and the life around you. There are Urban Sketching groups popping up all over the world and it is a wonderful way of connecting with people and making new friends.

In this class you will explore different techniques and media to express the ‘urban’. Using a thematic approach you will cover different types of subject matter such as architecture, nature, people and events.

You will learn basic perspective, mark making, figure sketching and working with speed and accuracy to record the things around us.

About Robyn

Robyn Bauer is a full time artist living in Brisbane’s Paddington. She is well known for her urban landscape paintings and drawings of the world outside her own back door.

Robyn taught Urban Sketching internationally at the Urban Sketching Symposium in Manchester in 2016 and is a founding administrator of Urban Sketchers Brisbane.

Her sketchbook is her constant companion.
