 Metalsmithing Techniques for Jewellers

Medium: Jewellery
Skill: Beginner to intermediate
Materials: $30 – $80*

This course will explore forging and metalsmithing as they apply to jewellery making. Be blown away by the endless variety of jewellery shapes that can be created by learning to forge and fold form copper, silver or gold.

In this workshop, using just a few tools, students will explore the vast range of jewellery shapes that become available by simply bending, folding and hammering metal.

Over the seven days Gerhard will introduce students to a series of specific jewellery projects each designed to teach different technical skills and applications of the forging and fold forming process.

You will then apply these skills and learn the systematic methodology required to design and consistently produce your own original jewellery pieces.
