Casting with Deb Mostert
Low Relief Resin Casting^
Skill level: Beginner to intermediate
Estimated material cost: $220*
This workshop will see you designing, sculpting and casting a combination of small found objects and handmade low relief sculptures made from plasticine. This process, which is exciting and relatively quick, will see you make a number of moulds and castings across the two days of the workshop.
You will use silicone for the mould making, and resins and plaster to cast. As a bonus the moulds you will create in this workshop are reusable, meaning you’ll be set up to cast away at home.Materials list
^Low relief casting is a method of sculpture in which the designs stand out from the surface.
*The materials cost noted is indicative only if you need to purchase every item. You may already have some of the required materials or tools in your artwares collection and therefore the estimated materials cost will be less than indicated. See the materials lists for more information.
