Become a Winemaker for a Weekend!
Have you ever dreamed of having a special bottle of wine for those meaningful events – one that you hand crafted yourself? Well here is your chance to make your winemaking dreams come true!
Join winemaker, viticulturist and experienced wine educator, Peter Orr as he takes you on a sensory journey from the vine to wine.
You will experience the full process of making wine, covering everything from harvesting, pressing and crushing grapes to preparing ferments.
To top it off you will complete your winemaking experience with a tasting masterclass and fine dining experience on the Saturday evening – all included in the Winemaker for a Weekend fee.
The wine produced by the group is custom labelled including a photograph of the winemakers to commemorate your special weekend.
Peter has over 20 years of winemaking experience with eight Hunter Valley vintages under his belt. He has worked at McWilliams Mount Pleasant as well as the boutique winery – Allandale. Peter also spent ten years at James Estate Wines, growing the vineyard there from 30 to 250 acres.
Currently the Manager (Oenology, Education & Training) at QCWT, Peter continues with the hands on role of winemaker. He also delivers international wine training administered by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in the UK.
Please note that the Winemaker for a Weekend is a regular QCWT workshop which is running in conjunction with Autumn Retreat and as such its pricing structure is different to other workshops. .
