Skill: Introductory to Advanced
Materials: up to $75 for tools and $200 for clay and glazes clay costs will be added at time of registration, see materials list
This workshop will take participants through all stages of the studio process of making through to firing. This will include preparation of materials, clay reclaim, working with glazes, packing and unpacking kilns.
There will be consideration of firing technology in relation to the aesthetics of form and surface in the making of stoneware and porcelain. A crucial focus will be the discovery of a visual language arising from the interplay between functional and abstract designs.
This is a workshop for learning, refining and developing techniques at the potter’s wheel.
About Anthony Brink
Anthony Brink has over 35 years of professional experience in ceramics. He produces works for sale, exhibition and commission from his studio located in the Blue Mountains. Anthony works independently as a studio based potter. He is currently the Head Ceramicist at the City of Sydney’s Pine Street Creative Arts Centre.
